Today we’re beginning the rollout of uplink v2 and the protocol that powers it.

What was version 1?

Uplink is a public good funded by Nouns DAO that makes it easy for groups of people collaborate and create onchain. To date, it’s been the home of 2 main features.

What’s new?

The biggest roadblock for uplink v1 development has been our reliance on smart contracts that weren’t really designed **to power the co-creative capabilities that we’re targeting.

To solve this, we designed the transmissions protocol - a suite of smart contracts on base, purpose-built for communities to create things onchain together. The new contracts are packed with features that we’ll introduce on uplink over time, and document for other developers to build on top of. We’ll cover those later.

Today, the plan is to upgrade mintboards to the new protocol, solidify feature parity with version 1, and introduce a couple of new features to mintboards.

Migration

If you created a mintboard in version 1, we’ve deployed it for you on the new protocol with the same settings you had before. Head to your space page to check it out.

** We’ve temporarily disabled the following pages:

They’ll be back soon.

New Features

There is no longer a single mintboard / space limit. Go crazy.

Custom fees. Set your mint fees and protocol rewards however you like, or make it completely free. Fees flow directly to recipients and do not require claiming.
